Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2026

This policy explains what personal information Personalities Test collects, why we hold it, and the control you keep over it.

Who We Are

Personalities Test is an online self-assessment service and a tradename of The Sales Factory B.V., registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK 94473102). Taking a test, opening an account, or paying for a subscription each involves some personal data, and this policy sets out how we handle it. We work in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, for residents of California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

If any part of this policy does not sit right with you, the simplest response is to stop using the service. Continued use means these practices apply to you.

What We Collect

We collect only what the service actually needs. It falls into a few groups:

  • Account details: the name and email you register with, plus optional details such as date of birth or gender that let us tune a test to you.
  • Your results: the scores, category breakdowns, and answer-level detail a test produces, which is what we turn into your report.
  • How you use the service: the pages you open, how long a test takes, the answers you give, and technical signals such as device, browser, IP address, and timestamps.
  • Payment details: the billing information you enter at checkout. Card payments run through Stripe, and full card numbers never touch our servers.
  • Cookies and similar signals: small identifiers that keep you signed in and help us read how the service is used. The Cookies section below covers these in full.

Why We Use It

Every use of your data traces back to one of these purposes:

  • Running the service: scoring your tests, building your reports, and keeping your account working.
  • Making it better: spotting what is confusing or slow, fixing it, and shaping new features.
  • Staying in touch: sending account and billing notices, answering your questions, and, where you allow it, occasional product news.
  • Handling payments: taking payment, managing your subscription, and sorting out billing questions.
  • Meeting legal duties: complying with the law, enforcing our Terms, and guarding against fraud and abuse.
  • Understanding trends: combining data into anonymous, aggregate figures that no longer identify anyone.

When We Share It

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the partners it takes to run the service, and only for that purpose:

  • Payment processing: Stripe handles card transactions under its own PCI-DSS-compliant security.
  • Analytics: analytics tools such as Google Analytics help us read usage patterns, each under its own terms.
  • Advertising: we may share hashed (irreversibly scrambled) email addresses with ad platforms such as Google Ads Customer Match, so we can reach people who have shown interest and measure whether our ads work. Google acts only as our processor here and does not fold this into its own profile of you. Our legal basis is legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, and you can object at any time (see Your Privacy Rights).
  • Legal reasons: we may disclose data where the law, a court, or the need to prevent fraud requires it.
  • A change of ownership: if the business is sold or merged, your data may move with it, and we will say so beforehand.

Every processor we use is bound to protect your data and to use it only for the job we hired them for.

Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores for us. We group them by what they do:

  • Essential: keep you signed in and the service secure. Without these it cannot function.
  • Analytics: show us, in aggregate, how the service is used. You can switch these off in your browser.
  • Preference: remember choices like your language so you do not reset them every visit.

Your browser lets you review, block, or clear cookies. Blocking the essential ones will break parts of the service.

How We Protect It

We guard your data with measures that match how sensitive it is:

  • Encryption in transit: passwords and payment details travel over encrypted TLS connections.
  • Guarded storage: data sits on access-restricted systems that we review regularly.
  • Need-to-know access: only staff with a genuine reason can reach personal data.
  • Ongoing upkeep: we keep our systems patched and test them for weaknesses.

No system on the internet is ever completely secure, and we will not claim otherwise. What we can promise is real, continuing effort to keep your data safe.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, GDPR, the CCPA, and similar laws give you rights over your data. These include:

  • Access: ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
  • Correction: have inaccurate or incomplete details fixed.
  • Deletion: ask us to erase your data, within the limits the law allows.
  • Export: receive your data in a portable, machine-readable form.
  • Withdraw consent: take back any permission you gave, at any time.
  • Object: tell us to stop certain processing, including direct marketing.
  • Opt out of ad targeting: have your details removed from advertising audiences such as Google Ads Customer Match.

To use any of these, contact us with the details below. We answer within 30 days, or sooner where the law requires. California residents are never charged or treated differently for exercising a CCPA right.

Children

Personalities Test is not built for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that a child under 13 has given us personal data, we delete it and close the account. For teenagers between 13 and 18, some regions require a parent or guardian to agree first. A parent who believes their child has shared data with us should contact us so we can put it right.

Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy as the service, the technology, or the law changes. When we do, we post the new version here and update the date at the top. Using the service after a change means the updated policy applies to you, so it is worth a look now and then.
