The science behind your type
Curious what sits behind your type? Here is the model the test is built on, where its statements come from, and how your answers become a result, all in plain language.
How your result is calculated
You answer 30 statements in about 6 minutes. Your answers are scored on our servers and saved to your profile, so the same answers always give the same type.
That result is not compared against anyone else's. Four of your dimension scores cross into one of 16 named types, with published rules, so the same answers always give the same type.

Built on the Big Five
The test rests on the Big Five, the most widely studied model of personality in psychology. The model is in the public domain, and our statements are adapted from the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP), a free, public library of research-tested items. The sixteen type names on top are our own.
The Big Five, in our own names
Energy, Focus, Decisions, Structure and Baseline track the Big Five: Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness and emotional stability.
Type rules
Four of the traits cross into one of 16 named types by fixed, published rules rather than anything tuned per taker.
Consistent scoring
The same answers always produce the same result. Scoring runs server-side and is verified against fixed reference cases.
Stated limits
A self-report test measures what you report about yourself. It is not a diagnosis, and the report says so where it matters.
The traits behind your type
- Energy (Extraversion)where your attention goes and what restores it
- Focus (Openness)whether you work from the concrete or the abstract
- Decisions (Agreeableness)whether you weigh by logic or by people
- Structure (Conscientiousness)how much you plan and how much you leave open
- Baseline (emotional stability)the modifier that sits across the other four
Honest About the Limits
Your result is a careful read of how you describe yourself, and it is not a clinical diagnosis. A licensed psychologist running a full evaluation is a different thing entirely, and we will never dress your result up as that.
We do not run a lab, sit inside a university, or put our name on peer-reviewed papers. The research behind the Big Five belongs to others and is published in the open. What we add is a clear test built on it, with its limits spelled out right here instead of buried.
